Planning Contents page

The Contents Page will include these:
  • Page 6 New Artist- this include an Interview about the new artists' single and the album that's coming soon
  • Page 18 In The Studio- Photo-shoot
  • Font- A font is a particular size, weight, and style of a typeface. for example there are different types of font and different ways of creating them. For example, there are different reasons why people create different types of font. some of them are purely creativity, art, or procedural. For example procedural, in letter heads, introductions, emphasising or stressing a point (italics) In advertising and reporting different types of writing structures requiring different types of font may be particularly preferred.

  • Typeface- For example Times Roman is a typeface that defines the shape of each character.

Serif- is when there are edges to the font and San serif is where there are edges to the font.

  • Style- is styling is the impression created by structure of the letters that help to generate and attract the eye of the reader in form of  bold, italics, underlining and many more formations. For example...

  • Didot- this is a name given a group of Typefaces.it is how you measure the size of the font. for example

  • Serif/ San-serif– Serif is a small line on the end of the stroke s that make up letters and symbols.
  • Size– it is the weight of the font/body text, the letters that is within the body of text whether it is big or small.
  • Compatibility Issues-
  • Leading- changing the space between the lines and paragraphs.

  • Kerning- it is the space between the letters as it shown underneath.

Aim: To plan photoshoot for DPS by researching images and evaluating the last shoot for the front cover.

How could you have taken better photos for your front cover? (Add screenshot of front cover onto post as on image)
-When taking photos, especially if outside, I think its always best to take photos when its not dark because the photos will look slightly bad as they will be not clearer enough. This is what I think I should have done for my photos although some of them came out okay bust still not clear enough.

2. Which made up act will feature in your DPS?
-The act that will feature in my DPS will be the same as I have used for the front cover or maybe have a group of girls to be as a girl band.

3. Who will model and Why?
-I thought to have 4 of my friends named Victoria, Jessica, Han and Tiffany.

4. Which setting in Brighton could you use and why?
- The Brighton Pier would be a good setting because there is a nice view and that's a place i thin the photos will come out nice and clearer.

Aim:To concider what the purpose of a DPS is and the key features within them as an article.

What is a DPS?
  • I think a DPS is a double page spread within a magazine.
  • 2 facing pages of a magazine where the textual material on the left continues to the right hand side.

Looking in Q Magazine

Topics within its DPSs:

  • "Cash for Questions" - interview with The Red Hot Chili Pepper, First page has an image and the other shows the interview page.
  • "Electric Shadyland"- an interview with Eminem, shows more of    he image than the interview itself.
  • "Technical Knockout"- which this is an article about s movie called The Matrix and shows images and the information about the movie.
  • "Lets hear it for da boys"- which this is about a band called The Ramones and talks about who they are, more like an article instead of interview.

Analysing a DPS about Emily King

What does the headline suggest about the story?

-The headline of this article is " Share my World" which suggest that she wants to share her world to the readers.

What is the main message of this article?

-The message in the article is to tell us about her (I believe) its about the life story of Emily King as it says here " King grew up in one-bed-room apartment.." and sharing with us how it all started before she became well known for her voice and the song-writing. It also talks in detail about her interests as it is says "

How does the first line try to interest you?
- The first line interests me because it (I believe) talks about where she grew up and explains the kind of person she is.

What % would you say "quotes" are?
-

One writer I have found on internet is the one that wrote about the article I was writing about. the information about this writer is on this link.http://www.linkedin.com/in/cloverhope
