To further identify those involved in the printed magazine and investigate isses prior ro production.
Equipment needed and the possible issues that may appear
- Camera (it might run out of batteries and the weather may terrible as it may rain. Make sure the Camera fits the Tripod)
- Charger: make sure there is enough chargers for everything that I may use such as a laptop and !pad or a digital camera.
- Lighting
- Clothes & Costumes ( Make sure you have the right costumes, size, colours and have a back up plan for the costumes, as they may run out or may disappear.)
- Tripod ( physical damage such as it might fall and then break, make sure you have a person who knows how to sort the tripod out.)
- Location. ( make sure you have a different place ready in case you are not able to be where you wanted to be at and that is the back up plan.)
- Laptop: make sure you have enough memory, the charger is there too in case it may not be fully charged.
- Umbrella- make sure you have a strong umbrella as it might rain, if not use it for the sunlight in case its too sunny. if you doing the photo-shoot outdoor.
Location:
- The Dome- The amount of people around there will affect the pictures you will trying to take. So I would need to be there earlier in the morning where there is less people and less thing happening. If the photo-shoot is outside the dome.
- School Studio: Might have to use the school studio because of the type of magazine you are using is Hip Pop and that is slightly difficult.
- Home: might even have to take picture at home were it may be easier depending on the type of photos being taken and make sure the wall has not got anything that will show where was the photos taken.

Aim: To consider what makes good market research and start a draft of a questionaire to help me plan my magazine.
How do you make an effective and helpful questionnaire?
Hip-pop music causes violence among its audience:
1-Strongly Agree
2-Agree
3-Neither
4-Disagree
5-Strongly disagree
This is known as Semantic-Differential Scale- it uses numbers to measure opinion.
Describe in your opinion of hip-pop music:
violent 1 2 3 4 5 Non Violent
Sexiest 1 2 3 4 5 Non-Sexiest
Racist 1 2 3 4 5 Non-Racist
Topics that I will need to ask about in my questionnaire:
What makes a good questionnaire evaluation?
- Make sure my questions are explained well
- Make sure the way I want my question to be answered clear and specific.
- Make sure the question is easy to understand and clear.
- Tell the person how to answer the question
- Make sure it is in a organised/sensible order (logical order)
- Give examples to show what you mean
- Think about your wording when you write your question, word like "prefer"
- Using another choice in answer - specify
- using numbers to measure their agreement of something for example 1 as the least strong of something and 10 and strong answer to something.
- Ask about what you want to know
- Ask precise questions, not vague ones.
- Limit the amount of responses the person can give so you can handle their choices more easily.

What makes a good questionnaire evaluation?
- By including comments on what people think of the question, more like getting the audience's feedback.
- It is always good to add questions that is not just about music.
- By having Tables or pie charts because they are useful ways to get the results.
- Having to put all the question and the answers into a graph.
- To have questions that also include males not just females or the other way round.
- being manipulative
- Mention any anomalies or unexpected results.
- Explain what the point of the questionnaire was- what was I trying to learn.
- A logical order of explaining what you learned from each question, starting from the top.

Music Magazines:
Textual Analysis

- NME (New Melody Express)
- Mojo
- XXL
- Kerrang!
- The source (local Brighton music scene)
- The Source (hip-pop)
- Uncut
- DJ
- Mixmag
- Names
Textual Analysis
- Magazine title: The magazine I am using is The XXL
- Publisher: The publisher is Harris
- Target Audience (Age, Gender, Lifestyle): I am not sure but I think it is targeted at mostly males readers and it can be females to depending on their interests. I also think this is for people from the ages around 16 to the late 20s or up to 50s because of the inappropriate/ sexual images & models that are on there and the kind of style they have attracts males. Lifestyles: I think it mostly appeals for those who have a lot of this type of music back ground, as it also have and as it also have Games and fashion for only males.
- Genre: I think Rap, Hip-pop and RnB
- Main Acts features: It features to Single acts such as SNOOP LION, A$AP FERG, BIG SEAN, DRAKE JAY-Z etc.
- A selection of article subjects: They have articles showing Cars, Bear, Female models with their sexuality, a lot of Rappers and only one image I found of a Female shoe.
- Description of 3 male photos- how are they 'presented':

- Description of 3 female photos:
- What 'ideologies' or points of view or attitude are implied:
- Summery of products advertised:
